Nepal in NIPAF

Nepal in Nippon International Performance Art Featival ( NIPAF) Asia series, August 2015




Nippon International Performance Arts Festival ( NIPAF) was been started and doing its series of performance art since 1993. In the begining  artist were Sho Kazakura (one of an artist who was a Neo Dada Organizer member in 1960`s in Tokyo ) & Seiji Shimoda, 3 Korean Artists, 7 artists from Europe and Canada. In the early 1990s Seiji Shimoda commenced performance art in few countries such as Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He had conducted some performances and realized that he should go to various Asian countries to meet local artists and initiate  to put out the actually how the performance art is practicing there.
In 2012 Seiji Shimoda with his first visit to Nepal with regarding the quest of performance art practices by the correspondence  with Surganga Darshardhari ( founder of Bindu , a space for artists` ) and had a fruitful performance art workshop with the artists from Nepal. And its outcome performances were held in the gallery space of Nepal Art council, Babarmahal．
simultaneously, Binduａspace for artists' has been conducting the live performance art events since then in different venue at Kathmandu in the year 2012/13/14/15.

Visual and performance　artist Saurganga Darshandhari did a visit to Japan during 19th NIPAF international series in July 2013, as a first participation from Nepal. visual artist Prithvi Shrestha had a participation in 17 th NIPAF Asia performance art Asia series in January 2014 . Likewise Riti Maharjan visited 20th NIPAF international series in July 2014 . Artist Ishan Pariyar has been invited to join NIPAF Asia performance art  series on August 2015. For this year the participants are Niloofar Chaman from Bangladesh, Thyitar from Myanmar, Modalorina from Phillipines , Park Ju- young from S.Korea, Zhou Bin from China , Ishan Pariyar from Nepal and Japanese  artist Shiji Shimoda, Kuroda Osamu, Matsuda Hiroyuki, Meba Kurata, Yamamoto Nobuki, Wataru Toshharu, , Kamata Hiroko, Miri Hamada,Matsuda Chika, Sato Azusa, Kaba Eriko, Inukai Miyaki are participating the two weeklong event which is going to held in main city of Japan like Tokyo, Osaka & Nagano.

"National Fine Art Award " winning painting in Contemporary Art Category during National Fine Art Exhibition hosted by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Nepal Art Council, Kathmandu, Nepal on April 20th 2016 Artist's Statement Entitled ' The Reminiscence ' is the painting, which i started after some months of the Earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015.
